The first day of digital photography I honestly thought this class was going to be something completely different than what it actually is. I thought this class was just gonna be take pictures upload them and submit, I had no idea we were gonna learn about lenses, shutter speed, aperture, or anything about photoshop and blog posts. Turns out this class has a lot to offer. I feel like overtime I became a better photographer. I learned about the composition a photograph needs to look good, I learned about different settings on the camera, and I learned how to upload onto the computer and edit them in photoshop which is a skill that is good to learn for future events that I might need to use it. These are some examples of my worst pictures I took through out the course. These pictures were taken within the first few weeks of the class, you can probably tell by looking at them. You can tell because the lighting wasn't right at all, they had very bad composition, and they had no main subject so you couldn't really tell what the picture was taken for. I consider these pictures to be the best ones taken through out the trimester. I think that because they were taken later on in the course so I had a better understanding on how to use the settings on the camera and the composition is much better. They are actually focused on the subject so you can tell what the picture is trying to capture. The ones on the left and right were taken for macro which I really enjoyed taking and the one in the middle was taken for food. Overall I am very happy I took this class even though I was a little nervous in the beginning when we first started taking pictures because I had no idea what I was doing and when we first opened photoshop and had to learn how to use tools I never even knew existed. However, now looking back I am happy because I feel comfortable taking pictures and having the ability to edit them if necessary.

For this assignment we had to make visual puns like burger king and couch potato. I did this by editing two pictures together to make the puns and placing them on a colored canvas
For my last photo assignment I decided to use macro. I took pictures of things around, some in the dark using flash and some in the light to get different styles. I took the macro pictures on my camera using the macro settings which helps on focusing on object and getting up close.
For this assignment we had to make a picture look like it has the same person in it four times. To do this I had to take a picture of the background by itself and then take individual pictures of the person doing different poses in different spots. I then edited in photoshop and now it looks like the person appeared in the same picture in four different spots. (only had to do one because I was absent)
For this assignment I chose to take pictures of food. I took pictures of strawberries, popcorn, and apples. I picked the first popcorn one as my best one because I liked how it focused on the popcorn only and blurred out the bag on the outside.
For this assignment we had to take two different portraits. One of the portraits was taken in the studio with lights and a back drop. Two lights in front of the person and one light behind the backdrop that kinda gave a halo effect, this portrait came out more professional. The second portrait was taken in a random part of the school with lighting coming from right above, this picture didn't come out so professional looking. After taking the pictures we had to learn how to frame them with a white border and a black background.
For this assignment we had to pick any photoshop tutorial to copy and try to recreate. I chose to recreate one where you can change the colors of the picture to make it look retro. I did this on a picture that I already had of my date for homecoming a couple weeks ago. I was able to change the colors to make it look retro by going into channel mixer and going into the blue channels and turning the blue to 0 and the green to 100. Then I went into selective color and played around withe colors to make it look retro.
For this weeks photo assignment I chose to do black and white. As I was taking pictures I realized that I wanted to take pictures of things that I enjoy so I took pictures of the pumpkin that I carved, plants in my room, cupcakes that I baked for a halloween party this weekend, and my dog. I really wanted to find a way to add it to my blog post so I decided to take pictures of these things and edit them to look black and white i did this by turning the saturation all the way down and to make it look a little better I turned down the brightness as well.
For this assignment we had to take pictures of the school, choose one, and then crop other images into the picture to create a theme and make it look somewhat realistic even tho it could never happen. For my school of context assignment I chose to do a Disney princess theme and crop some princesses into the school. This assignment helped me with practicing my select and cut and paste skills.
For this assignment I chose to do a still life. Many of the still life's I have seen in the past have been been of baskets of fruit or fruit on a table so for mine I decided to kinda keep the same concept but change it up a little bit. Since Halloween is coming up there is a spiderweb basket in the kitchen with little pumpkins so that is pretty similar to the fruit in a basket but with a theme so I took pictures of that from different angles.
